I did a lot of research before deciding to go through weight loss surgery. I wanted to know everything; the good, the bad and the ugly. After watching videos on YouTube, reading blogs, and joining every FaceBook group I could find. I decided that I wanted to go for it. I needed to take my health back. You see, I was an insulin pump wearing diabetic with high blood pressure, thyroid issues, and sleep apnea. No matter what diet I did, I just couldn’t get the weight to come off. So I decided to go for Gastric Sleeve surgery. I worked very had to get my insurance to pay for the surgery. It took 6 months of monthly doctor’s appointments, a psychiatric visit, a visit with a nutritionist, and letters from all the doctors that I see for my asthma, sleep apnea, endocrine issues.
During this time, every video, Facebook group, and YouTube channel I visited kept talking about hair loss. I knew going into this that my hair wasn’t thick. I kept looking for things that I could do to prevent the hair loss, but to no avail. Exactly 4 months after my surgery, it started. I had toyed with the idea of just cutting my long hair off into a pixie cut and bleaching it to the whitest blonde I possibly could. When the time came, I was ready or so I thought. I chickened out the first hair appointment I had, and just took some length off.
Needless to say, I was disappointed in myself for not just going for it. I realized that my hair was a “security blanket” so to speak. I used to think it distracted from my triple chins. LOL! I no longer had a triple chin, just a double at this time, but I needed to shed the old me, I needed to embrace the new me. So I took the plunge and cut it off! YIKES! It was very liberating! I was turning into a new person, one who didn’t let fear hold me back. Well, at least fear of cutting my hair, we’ll talk about fear of heights and roller coasters later. I was still very worried about loosing more hair, so I began to talk with my hairdresser, and she recommended Sugarbearhair Vitamins.
I have to tell you, I was very worried about ordering these to begin with. I have an aversion to vitamins, the smell, the taste, and the texture. But I wanted my hair to grow back. Now, let me tell you it didn’t grow back immediately. I went for two months and didn’t see any new growth in my color, ladies you know what I’m talking about. I was very worried that my hair would be forever changed. But to my surprise… I started seeing new growth, and having little “alfalfa” sprouts sticking straight up! So, I’m really glad I cut my hair, because those little spikes just blended in with my cut.
5 months later, and I’m still taking the vitamins. I love them, and look forward to my sweet treat before bed. If you’ve ever wondered what product to take to encourage your hair to grow, I fully recommend Sugarbearhair. I purchased mine from Amazon.
Thanks for stopping by my Blog today. It really means the world to me!
Be Blessed!
